Shrimp forms we supply
HOSO (head-on, shell-on) and HLSO (headless, shell-on) suit buyers who peel or cook in their own plants. PUD (peeled, undeveined) and PD (peeled and deveined) are ready for further processing or foodservice. PTO and PDTO keep the tail on for presentation, and butterfly cuts are prepared for breading and frying.
Count sizes are agreed per kilogram or per pound, and net weight and glaze are fixed in each contract so every carton matches the specification.
Vannamei or black tiger?
Vannamei (Litopenaeus vannamei) is the volume species: consistent sizing and steady supply through the year make it the usual choice for retail and foodservice programs. Black tiger (Penaeus monodon) grows larger, with a firmer bite and striped shell, and is sourced for premium and large-count orders.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between HLSO, PD and PDTO shrimp?
HLSO is headless with the shell on. PD is peeled and deveined with the tail removed. PDTO is peeled and deveined with the tail left on. TBESFOOD supplies all three for vannamei and black tiger shrimp, along with HOSO, PUD, PTO and butterfly cuts.
Do you pack shrimp IQF or block frozen?
Both. Shrimp can be packed IQF, semi-IQF or block frozen, in retail packs or bulk cartons. The packing, net weight and glaze are agreed in the contract for each order.
