Pangasius: Vietnam’s main export fish
Vietnam is the world’s largest exporter of pangasius, also sold as basa, swai or tra fish. We supply well-trimmed, semi-trimmed and untrimmed fillets as well as steaks, headed and gutted fish and whole round fish, in retail packs, IQF, IWP or bulk.
Marine fish
Barramundi, grouper, mackerel and pomfret are supplied whole round or prepared to the buyer’s specification, frozen IQF or in blocks, for retail, foodservice and processing customers.
Frequently asked questions
What pangasius fillet trims do you supply?
Well-trimmed, semi-trimmed and untrimmed pangasius fillets, plus steaks, headed and gutted, and whole round fish. Fillet sizes, net weight and glaze are agreed per contract.
Is pangasius the same as basa or swai?
Pangasius (Pangasius hypophthalmus) is sold under several trade names: swai in the United States, tra fish in Vietnam, and basa in some markets, although basa is strictly a related species. Ask us for the scientific name required on your label.
Which packing options are available for frozen fish?
Retail packs, IQF, IWP (individually wrapped), block frozen and bulk cartons, depending on the species. Tell us the packing your market uses and we will confirm the specification.
