Seasons and sizes
Squid is caught along Vietnam’s coast year-round, with main seasons from December to April in the north and from June to September in the south. Cuttlefish and baby octopus are graded by pieces per kilogram, and baby octopus is available one-skin or two-skin.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between one-skin and two-skin baby octopus?
One-skin baby octopus has the outer skin removed once for a lighter colour; two-skin is cleaned further. Both are supplied IQF at 100% net weight, in size grades such as 10/20, 20/40 and 40/60 pieces per kilogram.
How are squid and cuttlefish packed?
IQF or block frozen, in 10 kg cartons or retail packs as the buyer requests. Size grades and glaze are confirmed in the specification for each order.
