From 23 to 25 April 2024, TBESFOOD exhibited at Seafood Expo Global at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, at Booth 4H307 in Hall 4. One year earlier we had walked these halls inside the Vietnam Pavilion. In 2024 we came back with a stand of our own, our name across the top and a freezer full of Vietnamese seafood. For three days, buyers kept coming.

The 30th Seafood Expo Global set new records for size and attendance. Organiser Diversified Communications reported 2,244 exhibiting companies from 87 countries, 67 national and regional pavilions and 51,248 net square metres of exhibit space. More than 35,000 seafood professionals came through the doors in three days, the highest attendance in the show's history.
For an exporter, that means the importers, distributors, retailers and processors of Europe, the Middle East and the Americas are all within a few aisles of each other. In Barcelona, the buyers walk past your stand.
We designed the stand around one idea: show a buyer in ten seconds what TBESFOOD ships and where it comes from. The back wall carried our "Prestige Seafood Supplier in Asia" message in TBES orange. The side wall carried a Seafood Map of Vietnam, with the provinces behind each product: the Mekong Delta for pangasius, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang for black tiger and vannamei shrimp, and the central coast for tuna. Our BRCGS, HACCP, Halal and Sedex credentials sat next to the QR code for anyone who wanted the details.

In the display freezer, buyers could see and handle the product itself:
The table at the back of the stand was booked through most of the three days. We met importers, distributors and processors from across Europe and further afield, some for the first time and some we had first met in Barcelona the year before.

Most of those talks were practical: trim and size for pangasius fillets, glazing and net weight for shrimp, packing for retail versus foodservice, and shipping schedules into European ports. Brochures, spec sheets and a lot of handshakes filled the rest.

Every partner who sat down with us left with a small gift: a box of Vietnamese lotus tea. Lotus tea is how a Vietnamese host welcomes a guest, and it was the gift we most wanted buyers to take home from Barcelona.

Between meetings, our team walked the halls to meet partners at their own stands, including a visit to the China Pavilion in Hall 3.

In Barcelona 2024 TBESFOOD stood under its own name in the biggest seafood show in the world, and buyers came to Hall 4 to find us. Three weeks later the team was on a show floor again, at the Seoul Seafood Show in Korea.
Thank you to every buyer, partner and visitor who stopped at 4H307. If you source pangasius, shrimp or barramundi from Vietnam, our export team is at export@tbesfood.com.
