Frozen Seafood from Vietnam for Japan and South Korea
Japanese and Korean buyers are exact about sizing, appearance and residue testing. They order peeled tail-on shrimp, nobashi for tempura, HLSO for reprocessing, and squid, cuttlefish and baby octopus. We exhibited at the Seoul Seafood Show in 2024.

What we supply to Japan and Korea
Import rules we work to
Japan: residue limits
Japan applies a positive list of residue limits to every shipment, with random testing at the port. Test reports against Japanese limits can be arranged before loading.
Korea: facility registration
Exporting plants must be registered with Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety before shipping.
Korea: shrimp quota
Under the Korea-Vietnam FTA, a set tonnage of Vietnamese shrimp enters each year at a reduced duty. Our guide explains how the quota works.
Shipping: Reefer containers to Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Busan and Incheon, on FOB, CFR or CIF terms. Certificates and plant registration numbers are on our Quality page.
